A setting of words taken from the Antiphon for the second Vespers for the feast of the Assumption. Commissioned by ORA for Suzi Digby and ORA Singers, for premiere and CD recording in August 2017.

Programme note

This motet for the Assumption is a quick and lively piece in modified rondo form which should sound light and witty. The rondo refrain cycles through the eight steps of the music’s home mode, the scoring varying each time. The ninth version acts as a brief recapitulation.
